FEATHERED TOUCH & MICROBLADING TECHNIQUE
Also known as Eyebrow Embroidery, Feather stroke and Feather touch. This manual method is performed using a hand tool with a row of multiple super-fine needles commonly referred to as a ‘blade’. The resulting ultra-fine hair strokes mimic the look of eyebrow hairs for a realistic 3-D, natural effect.
The pigment is implanted superficially (compared to the traditional hair-stroke machine method) and is considered semi permanent with results lasting between one and two years. That’s the idea behind the patented system we use at Mien Brows for a “brow mapping technique” that hews closely to the so-called “golden ratio”.
Many great artists have proportioned their works according to the Golden Ratio, as it is believed to be aesthetically pleasing.
Hence, a ‘perfect’ face would display Golden Ratio proportions such as these:
- Distance from Top-of-the-head to Chin divided by Width-of-head equals .phi.
- Length-of-Lips divided by Width-of-Nose equals .phi.
- Outside distance between Eyes divided by Length-of-Lips equals .phi.
It follows that, on a ‘perfect’ face, the high point (HP) of the eyebrow would divide the eyebrow arch at precisely the Golden Ratio point between the starting point of the eyebrow (SP) and the ending point of the eyebrow (EP) (SP-HP divided by HP-EP=.phi.).

Pain thresholds differ from person to person; however, every effort is made to keep you as comfortable as possible.
Sun exposure, the regeneration of skin cells over time, skin type, the choice of colour, and bleeding during the procedure will affect the final result of your treatment.
When the skin bleeds more during the procedure, pigment is pushed out of the skin, therefore retention is poor. To avoid this make sure you avoid alcohol 48 hours prior to treatment, and if you are on blood thinners to let us know prior to treatment.
Long term, your new brow tattoo will fade and shrink over time, therefore yearly touch ups are advised to keep your tattoo looking fresh.

WHAT IS EYEBROW TATTOOING?
Eyebrow tattooing is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo treatment that consists of thin, fine strokes which are applied in the same direction as hair growth to enhance eyebrows. This treatment is ideal for those who have lost the fullness in their brows or even those wanting a soft natural looking fuller brow. This semi-permanent treatment is performed over two sessions, with the second layer of pigment providing longevity and enhancing the shape, ensuring you leave with the natural result you desire.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR BROW TATTOO?
What does the treatment consist of?
Your initial treatment will include a free consultation, shaping, tattoo, aftercare and complimentary perfecting session (usually booked 4-6 weeks after initial treatment) for all clients.
How long is the procedure?
Procedure takes 2.5 hours in the first session. The technician will shape your eyebrows to suit your face, skin, and bone structure, ensuring the client is 100% happy with the shape. A numbing cream will be applied at the beginning of your session to ensure full comfort throughout your treatment.
How long does eyebrow feathering last?
The tattoo can last up to 1-2 years depending on the client’s lifestyle, sun exposure, metabolism and skin type.
We recommend a touch up session every 12 months. Some clients may need extra sessions depending on your skin type.
Is your pigment safe?
Our pigments are completely safe, 100% cruelty free and are made from vegetable dye which gives the eyebrows a more natural and softer finish.
AFTERCARE
How to achieve the best results in the healing process:
• Initially your brows will appear darker and more prominent, they will start to scab and flake over the next couple of days. This is completely normal.
• You should expect your end result within 6-8 weeks. The colour will soften and lighten up to 60%. Final results may vary depending on the client's skin type.
• We advise no exercise, gym, saunas etc for 7-10 days after your treatment.
• We recommend that you avoid using any makeup around the brow and forehead area for 7-10 days.
• Avoid touching, scratching or using hot water around the eyebrows for 10 days.
• We recommend you apply aftercare ointment 3 times a day for the first 7 days.
• There will be some days when the colour of your brows will completely disappear or fade away, don’t panic this is normal! This is how your skin rejuvenates itself; the skin should heal after 2 weeks.
• You should expect your end result within 6-8 weeks. The colour will soften and lighten up to 60%. Final results may vary depending on the client's skin type.
• To protect the brows from fading, we recommend using sunscreen on the area daily.
• WARNING: Chlorine, exfoliation creams, and exposure to the sun will cause colors to fade.
